Bob Bones: Director & Trustee of Vidacom CIC
Bob founded Vidacom in 1988 when he realised that the really valuable part of his IT company was the willingness to ensure that the customer’s business needs and expected outcomes were being met. Vidacom was founded as a Business Consultancy company to assist clients meet their individual business needs and ensure that projects delivered embedded business benefits.

That was a long time ago and since then Bob has acquired a lot of experience engaging with clients in diverse sectors to ensure that their businesses, projects and strategic aims are on track and under control, ensuring that their expected outcomes are met and their portfolio has clearly defined benefits in alignment with the organisational strategy. He is currently engaged on an organizational re-alignment programme within a Social Housing company that specialises in the Care and Housing of people with Learning Difficulties.

Over the years Vidacom has continued to develop the Social Entrepreneur in Bob, In Portugal he founded a school for children that did not fit into main stream education. He is a qualified part time teacher specialising in hard to reach and vulnerable people and has experience working with Ex Offenders, NEETs and people with Learning Difficulties.

In more recent times Bob has combined his Social Entrepreneur skills with his Professional Skills and experience working with organisations in the Criminal Justice, Social Housing and Care Sectors. He now believes the time is right to develop his passion further and the forming of Vidacom CIC is a significant step along this pathway.

Bob says: "the world has changed, we can no longer rely on 'good will' alone. We must be accountable for what we do and justify our needs. I want to help people and communities to continue to do the great work they already do and work with them to make Accountability and Justification easy and acceptable practice. That will enable them to build a sustainable model for future success."

Bob is a committee member for the Eastern Region of the Association of Project Management (APM), A PRINCE2 practitioner. IOD Company Direction Certified, CMMI qualified and Passionate about Life Long Learning he has just completed studying for the Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (CTLLS).

Janice James: Director &Trustee of Vidacom CIC

Janice started her formal career in the early 1990s, qualifying, teaching & working within the arenas of dance, fitness, nutrition & equestrianism.

Quickly gaining an enviable reputation, & overtime suitable experience, a modest but very successful small business was juggled alongside parenting & part-time Higher Education evening & distance learning. Successful completion of her first degree allowed Janice to add a new dimension to her teaching portfolio that of Literacy, Numeracy & English Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) for adults in the Post 16 Lifelong Learning sector.

Passionate, but tempered, Social Entrepreneur traits began to emerge as Janice taught & voluntarily supported non-traditional learners - many from deprived communities & many dealing with societal issues such as; third generation unemployed  families; parents, including young mums, with children who had additional educational needs (many were undiagnosed); offenders or those at risk of reoffending; or simply adults who had lived 40 or 50 years believing they were unable to learn as this was the repeated message they heard as a young student.

Janice was becoming increasingly aware of ‘unhelpful &/or short-term’  targets, processes & ways of working which may have worked historically, but which were now at risk of creating debilitating environments for individuals. Her Social Entrepreneur traits became evermore visible, as did her ability to influence, as she was drawn more and more into senior management roles.

Increasingly offered, accepting & subsequently achieving positive & measurable outcomes in a variety of sectors, (Third sector & Local Government -particularly Education, Health & Social Care) Janice’s outcome focused, person-centred style began to be inter-mixed with formal project, programme & portfolio management.  This has resulted in excellent communication & governance architecture, which enables an individual’s voice to be heard, for the benefit of the individual, the organisation or the community,

The initial creation & registration activity of Vidacom CIC encouraged Janice to reflect, record & share her personal beliefs & professional style.  She deliberated for some time & a flurry of communications with former colleagues & memories ensued.

Janice continues to be highly regarded for her energy & tenacity when working in complex &/or sensitive environments. 360-degree feedback from colleagues & external partners recently described Janice as:

...’A deliverer, energetic & different’...

...’Knowledgeable, engaging & an out of the box thinker’...

Janice holds a 2:1 BA Hons degree in Business & Management (with 1:1 awards in Strategic Management & Strategic Management Accounting) & Qualified Teacher Status, (QTS) in the Post 16 Lifelong Learning Sector. She is also Prince2, P30 & Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) qualified, & an active committee member for the Norwich Chapter of the Association of Project Management (APM).

Looking ahead Janice is committed to continuing to combine her Social Entrepreneur values with her professional skills & very much looks forward to discussing new opportunities.
